Overview

Walter's integration with Clio will allow you perform the following actions:

Create a Walter questionnaire directly from Clio
This will allow you to automatically pull the relevant details, such as the client name, email address, and matter number, into the intake questionnaire within Walter.
Link a Walter entity to a Matter or Client within Clio
Linking matters or clients to an entity will allow you to easily navigate to the relevant client of matter in Clio directly from your list of entities in Walter.
Add a link to the Walter entity from a custom field within a Clio matter
Linking Clio and Walter will automatically create a custom field within your matters, which will allow you to add the Walter entity URL to the matter within Clio. This provides you with the ability to easily navigate directly to the Walter entity from the matter dashboard within Clio.

To connect Walter and Clio:

Select your workspace name in the upper-left hand corner and then select User Settings.
Beside Clio Manage integration select the blue Connect button.
Select Allow Access within the authorization page.
Note: You may need to log in first if you are not currently signed in to Clio.

To create a Walter questionnaire while in Clio:

Navigate to a matter within Clio.
Select More actions in the upper-right hand corner and select Create questionnaire.
This will open a new tab within your browser, directing you to your list of Walter questionnaires where you will be able to locate the questionnaire that has been automatically created. The name of the intake questionnaire will contain the matter number from Clio, and the Primary Contact of the questionnaire will be set as the client of the Clio matter.

To link a Clio Matter to a Walter entity:

Within a Clio matter, select Edit matter in the upper-right hand corner.
In the edit screen, locate the Walter Legal Entity field under the Custom fields section.
Copy the URL of the entity within Walter and paste it into the Walter Legal Entity field.
Select the Save matter button in the upper-right hand corner.
Within the dashboard of the matter, you will now have a direct link to the entity within Walter.

To link a Walter entity to a Matter or Client in Clio:

Within Walter, navigate to the Entities tab in the upper-left hand corner.
On the far-right of your entities list, select Assign a client or Assign a matter beside the entity you would like to link.
Use the field that appears to search for a Clio matter number or client name.
Once you have located the correct client or matter, click on it to link it to the entity within Walter.

To disconnect Walter and Clio:

Select your workspace name in the upper-left hand corner and then select User Settings.
Beside Clio Manage integration select the red Disconnect button.
